The Arkansas flag was officially adopted on February 26, 1913. It is set on a red background. A white diamond outlined in blue is located in the middle. Exactly 25 white stars are located in this border, which represents the fact that the state with the 25th state to be admitted into the Union. The three stars below the word Arkansas and the one above it stand for the four countries the state has been a part of: The US, France, Spain, and the Confederate States of America.
