The Burma flag is a red banner with a blue field located in the upper left corner. In this field there is a large white star, which is surrounded by five smaller stars. The banner was officially adopted on January 3, 1974.

The Burma flag is full of meaning. White symbolizes purity. Blue stands for integrity and peace. The color red represents bravery. A new design has been proposed and may be passed in 2008. It consists of three horizontal stripes that are yellow, green, and red. The design also contains a white star.

The capital city is Naypyidaw. However, the largest city in the nation is Yangon or Rangoon.The Burma flag belongs to a country whose national anthem or song is titled “Kaba Ma Kyei”. There is no national motto. The currency is the Kyat.
