Others believe they represent the social classes. It is surrounded by wheat, which stands for farming. A cog wheel is located at the bottom of the Chinese coat of arms of emblem, which represents industry.
It was designed by Liang Sicheng. The Chinese coat of arms was adopted in September of 1950.
