The El Salvador coat of arms was adopted on September 15th, 1912. The middle is a triangle with a five volcanoes coming out of the water, which stands for the United Provinces of Central America. The nation’s motto is located below the triangle. It is “God, Union, Liberty” in Spanish. It is enclosed by a laurel of garland. The national flag is on each side of the El Salvador coat of arms.
