The Ethiopian coat of arms was adopted in 1996. It depicts a light blue circle with a yellow pentagram in the middle, from which five rays of sun extend. The symbol is based on King Solomon’s seal. In the modern day, the pentagram on the Ethiopian coat of arms stands for unity.
