The Faroe Islands flag is similar to that of the other Nordic countries. It is set on a white background. It features a red Scandinavian cross outlined in blue. It is called “The Mark”. The country’s national anthem is “You, my most beauteous land”.
The islands are an autonomous province of Denmark. The Faroe Islands flag was designed by Jens Oliver Lisberg in 1919. The entity was given home rule in 1948. It has nearly 50,000 people.
