The Guyana Flag
The Guyana flag has the ratio 3:5. It was officially adopted in 1966. It is sometimes called the Golden Arrowhead. The white stands for rivers and water. The green stands for farming and forests. The black represents endurance. The red stands for dynamism and zeal. Finally, the gold stands for minerals.
The Guyana flag was created by Whitney Smith. It consists of a green background, with two triangles on the left side. The triangles are red and yellow. The red one is bigger and has a black border. The yellow triangle has a white border. The ensign is slightly longer.
The capital in the country is Georgetown, which also happens to be the largest city. The Guyana flag belongs to a country whose national motto is “One people, one nation, one destiny”. The national anthem is title “Dear Land of Guyana, of Rivers and Plains”. The currency used is the Guyanese dollar.
