The Jamaican coat of arms created in 1661 and designed by William Sancroft. It depicts two Arawak people supporting a shield. The shield is white and contains a red cross in the middle. Pineapples, an important fruit to the island, are located within this red area. A helmet and crocodile are located on top of the Jamaican coat of arms.
Some modifications have been made to the design, with the current version of the Jamaican coat of arms reaching its form in 1963.
