The Kentucky flag is a dark blue banner. The state’s seal is featured in the center. It is surrounded by sprigs of goldenrod, as well as the words “Commonwealth of Kentucky”.
The Kentucky flag was adopted on March 26, 1918. However, some small changes were made in 1928. The two friends greeting each other in the seal are believed by some to be Henry Clay and Daniel Boone, who played pivotal roles in the state’s history. However, they are said to not represent anyone officially.
The banner was designed by Jesse Cox. The Kentucky flag was adopted by the state’s general assembly.
