The Kosovo flag has the proportions 2:3. Its design is based on a draft made by Muhamer Ibrahimi. The six stars are thought to represents the nation’s six ethnic groups: Bosniaks, Albanians, Serbs, Turks, Gorani, and Roma.

The Kosovo flag was adopted on February 17, 2008. It is set on a blue background, which contains a yellow map of the country, with six arched stars above it. The United Nations organized an international design competition, and this design was the result.

Around six different other flags are used by some of the country’s ethnic groups. The Kosovo flag is very similar to the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Many other proposed flags are in existence.

The largest city and capital city of the country is Pristina. The Kosovo flag belongs to a country whose recently gained its independence in February of 2008.
