The Malaysian coat of arms depicts two tigers, which are traditional symbols, supporting a shield. A crescent and fourteen pointed star are located on the top. The points represent the states and territories that make up the nation. A yellow ribbon at the bottom of the Malaysian coat of arms or emblem reads “Unity is Strength” in both Malay and Jawi.
The shield depicts some krises, which are curved daggers. There are five, which represent Johore, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah. The Malaysian coat of arms also features a hibiscus flower at the bottom.
