The Moldova Flag
The Moldova flag was adopted on April 27, 1990. It is a tricolor flag that has three vertical bars. The colors are red, yellow, and blue. The coat of arms is featured on the obverse side only.
The Moldova flag has a proportion ratio of 1:2. It is rare in the fact that it is only one of three national flags whose obverse side differs from its reverse side. The other nations who use this style are Paraguay and Saudi Arabia.
Throughout history, Moldova has been culturally related to Romania. Therefore, the Moldova flag is very similar to that of Romania. The only differences being the width of the vertical bars, as well as the shade of the color blue (Romania’s blue is darker).
The largest and capital city of the country is Chisinau. The Moldova belongs to a country whose national anthem or song is called “Our Language”.
