The Mongolian coat of arms depicts a symbol of eternity, the tumen nusan. On the inside, is a blue background, which represents the sky. The inside features a wind horse and a soyombo, which stand for spirit and independence.
The Mongolian coat of arms was adopted in 1992 after the fall of socialism. Three jewels are located at the top, which are representative of the past, present, and future. Legend has it that they can grant wishes. Below this, the wheel of destiny is located on a mountain range. The Mongolian coat of arms also features a scarf, called the khadag.
