The South Korean coat of arms depicts a red and blue taeguk symbol that is surrounded by five yellow petals. A ribbon surrounds it with an inscription that means “The Republic of Korea”. Harmony and peace are represented by the Yin Yang. The South Korean coat of arms was adopted in 1963.
