Trindad and Tobago Coat of Arms
The Trinidad and Tobago coat of arms was created in 1962 by a committee. A central shield is supported by a Cocrico and Scarlet Ibis. A yellow ribbon below the shield on the Trinidad and Tobago coat of arms has the words “Together We Aspire, Together We Achieve”, which is the nation’s motto.
The shield on the Trinidad and Tobago coat of arms depicts the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria on a red background. Above this, two yellow hummingbirds are depicted on a black background, which reflects that facts that many different types of hummingbirds are found in Trinidad.
