The UAE coat of arms or United Arab Emirates coat of arms was adopted officially in the year 1973. It features a falcon. On its chest, a sailboat is depicted inside of a red disc. The disc is surrounded by a chain. The bird on the UAE coat of arms holds a red banner in its talons which contains the name of the nation in Arabic script.

This version was used up until 2008, when a new slightly modified version was adopted.
